1. STORAGE/USE OF YOUR DATA
The protection of your privacy is of utmost importance to us. For this reason, it goes without saying that we strictly adhere to the legal regulations governing data privacy and treat your personal data with the strictest confidence.
Our data privacy and confidentiality practices follow German data privacy laws and are in compliance with the Federal Data Protection Act (German abbr. BDSG) and the Telecommunications Act (German abbr. TMG).
2. WHAT DATA WE STORE AND WHY
We use personal data such as your name and address (which we request and require in order to process and complete your order), in order to fulfill the contract and share these to this end with the commissioned service providers, such as shipping companies or our service team.
If you don’t yet know what cookies are, please read the information sheet "Cookies: What are they?" below. In order to use our shopping cart, your browser must be set to allow cookies temporarily!
- So that you can add and edit orders in your shopping cart during a browsing session.
- So that we recognize you on return visits and are able to enter your desired personal settings (Ex. type of payment and delivery, country of delivery, etc.) in your shopping cart.
What if you don’t want cookies? Most browsers accept cookies as a standard feature. You can enable or disable temporary and stored cookies separately in the security settings. If you disable cookies, certain features of our site may not be available, and some websites may not display properly.
Cookies: What are they?

4. TRACKING TOOLS
The DOUBLESTANDARDS.NET uses Google Analytics, a web analysis service from Google Inc. The information that the cookie generates about your use of this website (including your IP address) is transferred to and stored on a server operated by Google in the USA. DOUBLESTANDARDS.NET will use this information to evaluate your usage of our website, to compile reports on web activities for the site host and to perform other services associated with website and internet use. In some cases, Google may also share this information with third parties to the extent this is legally required or to the extent that third parties process this data on commission from Google.
In no case will Google associate your IP address with other Google data. You can prevent cookies from installing using the appropriate settings in your browser; we must warn you however, that in this case, you may not be able to use all of the functions on our website to their full capacity. What is SSL?
SSL, or Secure Socket Layer, is a security technology that insures that your personal data, including credit card information, your login data and your preferred payment method, can be securely transmitted over the internet. The data is encrypted so that it is only readable by the payment system.
What settings are used for encryption?
The encryption protocol used is: SSL 3.0 Encryption length: RSA 1024 Bit, RC4 128 Bit. Please note that security certificates with encryption lengths of longer than 1024 Bit are only supported by browser versions starting at 5.x. If an older version is used, then only 512 Bit encryption can be achieved.
Which of your data is transferred with encryption?
- Personal data (address, telephone #, etc.)
- Login data (user ID and password)
- Preferred method of payment
- Credit card- and account information
In our web shop, cookies are used to provide smooth functionality of the shopping cart as well as for an overall more pleasant shopping experience. Cookies help to assure that the addressee and pre-selection preferences can be properly assigned. When sending and emptying the shopping cart, the cookie automatically deletes the data you entered.
This means that we cannot see which user retrieved which data. The following set of data is stored for each retrieval call:
- Name of the file retrieved
- Date and time of the call
- Amount of data transferred
- Send report, whether the call was successful or not
- Description of the web browser used
- Operating system used
The IP address of the computer from which the inquiry was sent is not stored. Personalized user profiles therefore cannot be created. The stored data is only used for the further development of our range of products.
On request you will of course receive information about the data stored about your person or your pseudonym. If you would like to receive this, please send an email to our data privacy officer. The same applies if you wish to delete or correct your data.
